Aorus x5 v7 review in Spanish (full analysis)

Aorus is making a great move in the market for the best notebooks on the market. Specifically, we have been testing these days the fantastic Gigabyte Aorus X5 V7 with 15.6-inch screen, i7-7820HK quad-core processor + HyperThreading, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, 256GB of M.2 NVME SSD and a powerful graphics card GTX 1070 with 8GB of memory.

Aorus X5 V7 has chosen a dual storage system. The first disk is a 256GB Toshiba NVMe THNSN5256GPU7 SSD with a PCI (NVMe) interface and MLC chips. As expected it has a high performance read and write.

To complement a fast system, we also need a good storage system. Specifically, a 1 TB data hard drive with a 7200 rpm speed signed by HGST. This combination allows us to have a long storage for heavy applications and in the SSD the operating system with the applications that we use the most.

The graphics section is quite remarkable with the presence of an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card with a total of 2048 CUDA Cores. It comes equipped with 8GB of GDDR5 memory with a 256-bit interface and 256GB / s bandwidth.

Regarding connectivity, it has a 802.11 AC Wifi wireless network card with a Killer chipset that offers great performance as a 2 × 2 client. Aorus opts for a Killer network card that increases performance and latency by up to 60%. What a beast!

Software and gaming performance testing

Command & Control allows us to have access to all the available options of our laptop. Among them, personalize, monitor, regulate the fans (curves), wireless connectivity (Wifi + BT) and lighting.

We can also improve the sound quality with the Aorus Audio Equalizer software: with four modes to choose from: games, music, movies and meetings. With this application we can configure both the speakers, high impedance headphones or the microphone itself. Excellent work Aorus!

It also has the OC Gauge application that “shows us live” all the complete information on the user's system, including CPU / GPU loads, temperatures and fan speed.

The Aorus X5 V7 is the ultimate laptop for gaming and working. It incorporates a 15.6-inch screen, 4K resolution, G-Sync and X Rite Pantone technology. Curling the loop with a seventh generation 7820HK i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, a 256GB NVMe MLC SSD , and a 1TB hard drive.

In our tests we have been able to verify that the performance of the system is great. It has nothing to envy to a 4-core, 8-thread desktop. We have played Doom in 4K at 58 FPS without scratches. Portable cucumber!

Internally, the cooling system of the processor performs remarkably with 48 ºC at rest and when the load rises to 100% of the processor for one hour, it reaches 86ºC. Although if we have the entire system at full power: CPU + GPU can reach 95ºC. We can fix this with a custom profile down to 76ºC, but we will have the fans at 100% (it is recommended to wear helmets while you play). While the graphics card reaches 49ºC at rest and 77ºC at FULL. Totally expected?
