Yesterday afternoon, Apple released the fourth beta version of iOS 12.3 for developers. The release comes just a week after launching the third version in testing, and a month after the official release of iOS 12.2, an update that included Apple News +, new Animoji, and more. On this occasion, the big news is the arrival of the renewed TV app.

iOS 12.3 Beta 4 and the new TV app

The new beta version of iOS 12.3 is now available to developers through the Apple Developer Center , or via OTA for those who previously installed the necessary profile on their iOS devices.

iOS 12.3 and tvOS 12.3 present a new version of the Apple TV application, which has been updated with a new look and functionality.

In the new TV application, “Watch Now” and “Up Next” are kept in the foreground and in the central part, facilitating the monitoring of what the user is watching. However, a new recommendation section based on machine learning has been added that will suggest content based on viewer preferences and history.

The interface has been simplified with sections for movies, TV shows and series, sports and children's content. Also, on iOS, there is a separate bottom bar for Library, Search and View Now options.

A new " Channels " function is also included in the TV application, one of the main novelties in terms of the boost that Apple is giving to the services segment. These “channels” are subscription services (CBS All Access, Starz, Showtime, HBO, Nickelodeon, Mubi, The History Channel Vault and Comedy Central Now) to which the user can subscribe within the same app, without having to open another application. In fact, it is already possible to subscribe to some of these services, which until now was not possible in previous betas.
