AMD would have gained an important partner to output its new Raven Ridge APUs based on the Zen microarchitecture, it is nothing more nor less than Apple that would have decided to place the new AMD hardware in its new MacBook Pro equipment. Recall that both companies have already reached an agreement with Polaris GPUs before.

MacBook Pro with AMD hardware are on the way

Apple has looked at AMD's new APUs manufactured at 14nm FinFET and capable of offering a much higher energy efficiency than the company's current 28nm chips, the latest being the Bristol Ridge for the AM4 socket. With the move to AMD hardware, Apple ensures that it can enjoy much higher graphics processing power, Intel's U and H series chips do not have powerful graphics, so the multimedia experience would benefit greatly from the move to new AMD chips. Thanks to Zen's energy efficiency, the Raven Ridge APUs will maintain the same TDP as the Intel processors but with a much higher performance in their GPU and also, at much more competitive prices that will allow Apple to increase its benefits.

This is undoubtedly bad news for Intel, remember that Apple sells millions of computers around the world so there are many chips that would stop selling, sales that will go to its great rival AMD and that will generate a significant amount of income. AMD is getting a good slice of its custom chip business, let's remember that its hrdware is already present on PS4 and Xbox One.
