AMD X590 and X599 motherboards for HEDT appear to be in the works for manufacturers
There are three motherboards that ASUS is currently working on, using the AMD X590 and X599 chipsets.
The motherboards mentioned are as follows:
- ASUS Prime X590-PROASUS ROG STRIX X590-EASUS ZENITH II Extreme
The source suggests that the three motherboards that have been confirmed internally by ASUS may or may not hit the market. It is now possible that the launch of the X590 series will coincide with AMD's Ryzen 9 3950X, which is going to be its flagship 16-core chip in the AM4 CPU socket.
AMD's X590 could also make a surprise appearance with a limited number of motherboards when Ryzen 9 3950X launches, but that's just speculation. Recent reports also confirmed that the X570 and X590 were planned with one that offered support for PCIe Gen 3, while the other offered support for PCIe Gen 4, but the plans were dropped and AMD supported PCIe 4.0 for X570.
