Well, we continue with the new boards presented by AORUS at Computex 2019, and now it is the turn for the Pro series, which is made up of the Gigabyte X570 AORUS Pro with an ATX version with Wi-Fi and the Gigabyte X570 i AORUS Pro WiFi, a ITX gaming board that looks great. All of them with the AMD X570 chipset and support for PCIe 4.0, so we will see them in more detail.

Review of what's new in the X570 chipset

Among these novelties of these new boards, the support for PCIe 4.0 stands out, capable of offering us twice the performance of traditional PCIe 3.0, we are talking about 2000 MB / s in the data line both up and down. Similarly, we have two of them that offer Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, that is, wireless connectivity under the 802.11ax protocol, much faster and more efficient than Wi-Fi 5. Nor do we forget the 20 PCIe Lanes that this Ideal chipset for M.2 4.0 SSDs that are already on the market.

Do not forget that, despite the fact that this chipset is oriented to the new Ryzen, both the previous generation motherboards and these new ones, offer support for 1st and 2nd generation AMD Ryzen without any problem.

Gigabyte X570 AORUS Pro and Pro WiFi

Well, nothing, let's start by explaining a little what this board consists of and the news it brings us. Remember that it will be below the Master, Extreme and Ultra versions in both capacity and price.

The design is clearly more basic than the top of the range, although it leaves us with high-quality details such as good-sized heatsinks in the 14-phase PowlRstage VRM, as well as heatsinks in the two M.2 slots. In addition, we have active cooling again in this AMD X570 chipset. We also see that there is RGB lighting in the area of the I / O port protector and the back area of the board.

Both the DIMM slots and two of the PCIe have steel reinforcements in them. In the first case we have a total of 4 DIMMs that support 128 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz RAM. In the second, three PCIe x16 of which, the first is 4.0 x16, the second 4.0 x8, and the third is 4.0 x16 managed directly by the chipset. Also, we have another PCIe x1 4.0 also connected to the chipset. There is Multi-GPU support for two-way Nvidia SLI and AMD CrossFire.

Storage consists of 2 M.2 PCIe 4.0 / 3.0 x4 22110 slots with included heatsinks and also 6 SATA 6 Gbps ports. In the dry Pro version we don't have Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, although in the Pro Wi-Fi version, of course. An Intel Wireless-AX 200 chip has been installed in it, which is already present in many boards with this chipset. Wired connectivity is the same on both, a single Intel 10/100/1000 Mb / s chip.

The integrated sound card with Realtek ALC1220-VB is also maintained, although in this case we do not have DAC SABER. We finish with the port panel where we will find 2 USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A and one Type-C, 3 USB 3.1 Gen1 and 4 USB 2.0, also having an HDMI port. It is not a stratospheric connectivity either, but we must pay attention to the price to understand the decrease in ports.

Gigabyte X570 i AORUS Pro WiFi

The next board to know is the ITX version that AOURS has presented for this X570 chipset. This board has been designed with the aim of mounting a small gaming PC with good features and with the new AMD CPUs in its socket. In addition, it is one step behind the Master Extreme and Elite series, so we hope it comes out at a very attractive price.

Undoubtedly something that differs from the boards seen so far in the previous generation, is that the chipset heatsink takes up considerable space, having forced ventilation on top. Although part of the space is used to house an M.2 slot below. Being a smaller board, we have a new generation PowlRstage 8-phase VRM with heatsink built into the I / O panel.

There are a total of two DIMM slots for 64GB of DDR4-3200MHz RAM and a single PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for GPUs or the colossal new AORUS AIC Gen4 SSD 8TB (if you like). We are also going to have two M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, one front 2280 under the chipset heatsink, and the other at the back and managed by the chipset.

In this case we do have Wi-Fi connectivity with the most discussed here Intel Wireless-AX 200 chip at 2.4 Gbps in the 5 GHz frequency, in addition to an Intel 10/100/1000 Mb / s chip for Ethernet. The sound card is the same as in the previous cases, and the I / O port offers us 1 USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A and another Type-C, along with 4 USB 3.1 Gen1. HDMI and DisplayPort connector included.

Availability

We still do not have details on the availability of these products, but they are expected to come out in parallel with the new AMD CPUs, although the manufacturer already has information about them on its official site.
