How to remove utorrent ads

If you have heard of torrents, surely you have also heard of the uTorrent program, which is probably the most popular torrent client of choice for millions of people around the world. Small, fast, efficient, free and full of features, it has little to envy to the similar program BitTorrents, which is very good and popular too, uTorrent allows the efficient transfer of thousands of megabytes and gigabytes to millions of people.

However, with the latest update, users have a function that cannot be found very attractive: uTorrent began to have advertising. But, before you start complaining, you should know that there is a way to remove it… and without resorting to complicated "tricks".

The free version of uTorrent for either Windows, Mac, Linux and Android places many ads on its interface. The program itself, however, has advanced settings that allow you to disable banner viewing. To enable it, follow the next steps.

Step 1. In uTorrent, open the "options" menu and click "Preferences";

Step 2. In the program settings, click "Advanced";

Step 3. In the "Filter" field, enter "gui. show_plus_upsell ”(without quotes) and wait a few seconds until the item appears in the field below. Click on the item that appears after applying the filter and, next to the "value", select the option "false";

Step 4. Do the same for the element “offers. sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled ”;

Step 5. Press the "OK" button to confirm the changes. So since the ads will be disabled, you must restart the uTorrent.
