Comparison: xiaomi mi 3 vs jiayu s1
And with this comparison it is time to say goodbye to our beloved Xiaomi Mi 3, and he does it through the front door, putting himself in front of a compatriot who will not go unnoticed thanks to its benefits, the Jiayu S1. Throughout the article and as we always do, we will describe the characteristics of both smartphones, through which we will verify that their specifications are specific to terminals of higher ranges, and in the process reach the conclusion about which of them has a better quality / price ratio. We begin:
Screens: We are talking about two practically equal sizes, 5 inches in the case of the Xiaomi and 4.9 inches if we refer to the Jiayu S1. They share resolution: 1920 x 1080 pixels. The two screens have a wide viewing angle and highly defined colors, almost real, thanks to their IPS technology. The two phones also use Corning glass to protect themselves from accidents: Gorilla Glass for the Xiaomi and Gorilla Glass 2 for the Jiayu S1.
Processors: it shares a SoC from the same manufacturer but different type: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8274AB 4-core at 2.3GHz if we refer to the Xiaomi and Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core 1.7 GHz. The Adreno 330 chip accompanies the Mi3 and Adreno 320 takes care of the S1. Both smartphones have a 2 GB RAM memory. MIUI v5 (based on Android 4.1) is the operating system that protects the Xiaomi, while Android 4.2. Jelly Bean does the same with the Jiayu.
Designs: the Xiaomi Mi 3 with its 114 mm high x 72 mm wide x 8.1 mm thick is a very thin smartphone considering the battery it contains. It is made of an aluminum-magnesium alloy that allows an ultra-thin design, in addition to presenting a graphite thermal film that achieves better heat dissipation. The 138mm height x 69mm width x 9mm thickness that the Jiayu S1 features make it a taller and somewhat thicker terminal. Its body is made of steel, which gives it great robustness.
Batteries: the Xiaomi has 3050 mAh and the Jiayu comes with a 2300 mAh capacity. In both cases we are talking about a remarkable autonomy, especially if we refer to the Xiaomi.
Internal Memories: the Xiaomi has a 16 GB and a 64 GB model, without the possibility of expansion. The Jiayu S1 however has an advantage thanks to its 32 GB of ROM and the possibility of expansion via microSD card up to 64 GB.
Cameras: its main objectives have 13 megapixels, both made by Sony and with an LED flash that in the case of the Xiaomi is dual by Philips, which improves the intensity of light by 30%, allowing higher shutter speeds. Its front lenses are 2 megapixels, which in the case of the Mi 3 has a wide angle and is backlit. The S1 makes video recordings in HD 720p quality .
Connectivity: we can say that the two phones offer 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth support among other networks, without 4G / LTE connectivity being present in any case.
Availability and price: The general evaluation that we can make of the Xiaomi Mi3 is excellent. And is that, taking into account that its price is in the € 299 if we talk about the 16GB model and € 380 if we refer to the 64GB model of internal memory, we have a battery and a camera that could well double the price of this terminal. The Jiayu S1 for its part is a terminal that presents good value for money thanks to its highly competitive specifications that we can purchase for about 230 euros.
