Corsair hs50 review in Spanish (full analysis)

Corsair HS50 was announced during CES 2018 as a new gaming headset designed to offer sensational sound quality at a reasonable price, as well as being highly compatible with all types of devices thanks to the use of the 3.5 mm jack connection instead USB, much more limited in compatibility. Despite being an economical product, it does not renounce the best quality 50 mm drivers and a lighting system to improve aesthetics.

Unboxing and design

As always Corsair bets on a gala presentation, these HS50s come in a very good quality cardboard box and with a design based on the company's corporate colors, that is, black and yellow. On the front we see a great high-quality image of the product that shows us all its details such as lighting and ultra-comfortable cushions.

While In the back we see all its technical specifications well detailed in several languages, including Spanish.

Finally we have the Corsair HS50 in the foreground, as we can see it is a headset with a fairly classic design while elegant, the brand has moved away from the much more aggressive aesthetics of its Void series. The headset is built in very good quality black plastic, the use of this material allows its weight to be really very light, the manufacturer does not specify a weight but we assure you that they are very light.

We are dealing with a classic headband design that ensures good closing pressure on the ears without being bothersome, this is important to have a good balance between insulation and comfort.

The headband is very well padded on the inside, this comes great to avoid pressure on the head and that we can wear them for several hours without fatigue.

It also allows us to adjust the height, something that all gaming headsets on the market already include and that allow us to adapt it to the dimensions of our heads. In my case, I wear a good head and it doesn't bother me at all.

We come to the union of the headband with the headphones, this is articulated to allow some mobility, which will help to achieve better wearing comfort.

Finally we come to the area of headphones that is the most important in any gaming headset. Its design is quite conservative although the metal mesh gives it a rather pleasant aesthetic, in the center we see the logo of the brand in white, thus breaking the excess black to make them look better to the eye. Corsair has opted for a conservative design that will appeal to all users.

On the inside of the headphones we see the pads, these are soft and abundant for greater comfort of use. Inside are 50mm speakers with the best quality neodymium drivers, these have a frequency response of 20Hz - 20kHz along with an impedance of 32k Ohms at 1kHz. Its large size foretells quite successful bass without excessively compromising the rest of the frequencies, we will verify it in our tests.

The right earpiece has been the place chosen to install the control knobs, we see a button to mute the mic and a wheel to adjust the volume.

In the left earphone are the cable and a 3.5 mm connector to put the microphone, this has a flexible design so that we can adapt it to our face perfectly and put it near the mouth.

It is a unidirectional micro with a frequency response of 100Hz to 10kHz, an impedance of 2.0k Ohms and a sensitivity of -40dB (+/- 3dB). This mike features noise cancellation so we can have distraction-free conversations with our comrades in the middle of the battlefield.

Finally at the end of the cable we see its 3.5 mm connectors for audio and micro, they are gold plated to improve contact and prevent corrosion.

Final words and conclusion about Corsair HS50

The Corsair HS50 headphones have left us with a great taste. It is one of the most versatile "PC gaming helmet" we have tested. This is due to its compatibility with any game console or device with minijack input, for example: Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Android or iOS...

We also really liked their sound quality, considering their low price, as we didn't expect them to perform as well. In our day-to-day: listening to music, a little game at PUBG and watching a series has made the cut and we have had a more than acceptable ergonomics.

Another point in favor is that it incorporates the physical controls on one of its sides: mute, sound adjustment and the possibility of installing or removing its versatile microphone. Its price in online stores ranges from 59.90 euros to 65 euros (depends on the color chosen).

We believe that today, there are very few solutions (if not none) that are so cheap on the market. Without a doubt, a 100% recommended purchase.
