Cyberpunk 2077 demo at gamescom had ray tracing disabled
Table of contents:
The first Cyberpunk video gameplay was recently revealed during Gamescom 2018, where the new CD Projekt game could be seen in all its glory. Although graphically the title surprises by the scale it handles, it was not with its graphics in maximum detail, as revealed in the graphic options menu of the demo.
Cyberpunk 2077 had a 48-minute demo at Gamescom
Shortly after viewing the Cyberpunk 2077 demo, a screenshot appeared on Nvidia's Reddit showing what appears to be the graphical options menu, revealing that it will have presets in Low, Medium, High, Ultra and "OVERKILL", as well as exclusive Nvidia features. Although we have to clarify that this capture is not 'official' by Nvidia or CD Projekt.
Graphic options reveal disabled Ray Tracing
In this menu of graphic options you can see the Nvidia HairWorks and Ray Tracing effects. Hairworks was already present in The Witcher 3 and is used to make a realistic simulation of hair (although they deactivated it a lot because it consumed too many resources). In the case of Ray Tracing, this option is disabled. This is because the demo was not run under a GeForce RTX graphics card, but with a GTX 1080 Ti.
So yeah, Cyberpunk 2077 looks better than they showed in the demo, and we'll probably see it as soon as GeForce RTX graphics cards finally hit the shelves.
At this time, Cyberpunk 2077 does not have a release date, but there are many of us who suspect that the game will be released in 2020. By that time, there will surely be new cards, not only from Nvidia, but also from AMD.
