Doogee BL7000 is a new smartphone of Chinese origin that is intended to convince users that they do not want to spend a lot of money. It is an economic terminal but it does not want to fall short in benefits thanks to its 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage, an 8-core processor and a beastly 7, 060 mAh battery that should offer enviable autonomy. Do not miss our analysis in Spanish.

First of all, we are grateful to Doogee for the trust placed in ceding the product to us for analysis.

Doogee BL7000 technical characteristics

Unboxing and design

The Doogee BL7000 comes in a black cardboard box, the design is very simple since there is no image or anything remarkable beyond the logo of the brand and the model of the smartphone. We are used to this type of minimalist presentations in Asian manufacturers and it allows the manufacturer to save costs and offer a product with a relationship between price and characteristics that is as favorable as possible, since what is really important is what is hidden inside the box and not its design.

We open the box and find the smartphone itself along with the documentation, a microUSB charging cable, a wall adapter and a skewer to remove the card tray. A fairly simple presentation but it does its job. We do highlight that the smartphone is very well protected by a plastic cover to prevent scratches.

Doogee BL700 is a smartphone with a large 5.5-inch screen and a huge battery, two elements that make it quite large and feel heavy from the first moment we hold it in hand, not in vain its weight is 220 grams and its dimensions of 156 mm x 76 mm x 11 mm. As we can see in the photos, it is a fairly robust smartphone that is built with a metal chassis that gives it a rather premium appearance.

The design of the front is quite clean since we do not even see the logo of the brand, it is appreciated that you bet on a design of this style. At the bottom we have two non-backlit touch buttons and a fingerprint reader in the middle that also acts as a Home button.

Its back has a finish that imitates leather and makes it much more pleasant to the touch and above all, it makes it have a much better grip than the terminals finished in metal as a whole. We can see that the brand's logo and its double rear camera have been included with the flash in the middle of the two sensors.

At the top we see the 3.5 mm jack connector for headphones.

At the bottom the speaker is located, we see two grids in the chassis but there is only one speaker so the second grille is as an ornament and the microUSB port to charge its battery and connect it to our PC.

On the right side we can see the different buttons for adjusting the volume and turning the terminal on / off.

Also on the right side is the tray for SIM and MicroSD cards, since it is a smartphone with a unibody design so there is no back cover that can be removed. To open the tray we only have to introduce the skewer that the manufacturer attaches us and immediately we can remove it with our fingers. The tray offers capacity for two NanoSIM cards although one of them is shared with the MicroSD so we can only have two NanoSIM or one NanoSIM + one MicroSD.

This smartphone does not have any protection against water so better keep it away from all kinds of liquids.

Hardware and display

As we mentioned before, the screen of the Doogee BL7000 has a size of 5.5 inches and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, it also has IPS technology to provide better colors and perfect viewing angles. The panel quality is very good and the Doogee BL7000 offers great image quality, the touch operation is also excellent and we have not experienced any failures or lags during use. You can see that it is a screen made by the Japanese Sharp, one of the best in this regard.

The screen offers us ten multi-touch points, more than enough for a good experience of use in all situations.

We now turn to look at and inside the Doogee BL7000, one of the best sections of this smartphone with a configuration that until very recently was almost exclusive to the high-end. It has no less than 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, with this it is already clear to us that its multitasking performance will be excellent and we will not be short on storage space, of course we can always add a MicroSD of up to 128 GB if we don't have enough.

As for the processor, it does not disappoint either with a MediaTek MT6750T consisting of eight Cortex A53 cores at a maximum frequency of 1.5 GHz and the Mali-T860 GPU. It is not the most powerful MediaTek processor but its performance is excellent and its energy efficiency very good for a long battery life. Speaking of the battery, the Doogee BL7000 has an impressive 7000 mAh to offer a very high autonomy, at least on paper.

software

We get to the software section and we are happy to see that the terminal has Android 7.0 Nougat, it is also a very clean version with hardly any bloatware, the latter will undoubtedly be appreciated by the performance since we do not have any heavy layer that will weigh it down.

Speaking of performance the Doogee BL7000 reaches 39, 466 points in AnTuTu, it is a somewhat modest score but it corresponds to its processor. We have tried to play with games as demanding as Asphalt Xtreme and Mortal Kombat XL, both run quite smoothly, although logically it does not reach the level of detail and fluidity of a top-of-the-range model but it can be played perfectly.

Battery, camera and connectivity

All this is powered by a generous battery with an impressive 7000 mAh to offer a very high autonomy, at least on paper. In practice it has not been so bright since we have only reached 4 and a half hours of screen with a day and a half of use. Personally I expected much more from this battery and it has been the section that has disappointed me the most because other terminals with much less mAh with the ability to reach 8 hours of screen or even more. Probably due to the lack of optimization of the software, the terminal heats up and this is a symptom of high power consumption.

As for the optics, the Doogee BL700 has a double rear camera with two 13-megapixel sensors, so it points quite high in this regard, we will see if the expectations are met or not. The front camera is also 13 megapixels for high-quality selfies and video conferencing. Both cameras have an LED flash to improve photos in low light conditions.

As for the video recording resolution we have 1080p for the rear camera and 720p for the front, in both cases at 30 FPS. We leave you some samples of what it is capable of doing.

In good light

The quality of the photos is quite good in conditions of good light, always taking into account the range in which it is a mid-range terminal. On the other hand, when the luminosity worsens the performance decreases a lot. The power of both flashes is very low, their presence is almost testimonial and they will hardly be useful for anything really.

As for the video quality we can see that in general it is quite good, the negative is that it does not autofocus so we will have to touch the screen to change the focus distance.

Let's go to see the quality of the front camera:

Of course it is not lacking WiFi 802.11n + Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio and GPS + GLONASS for perfect wireless connectivity.

Final words and conclusion about Doogee BL7000

Doogee BL700 is a low-cost smartphone that does not want to give up offering users the best features, its configuration with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage was exclusive to the high-end until recently, making it a terminal that he is not foolish and wants to offer an excellent user experience. This large amount of RAM makes multitasking really good.

Its screen has surprised us with excellent image quality, in addition the brightness level is also very good and there is no problem when using it outdoors. We have not appreciated excessive reflections when using the terminal in a sunny environment. We can say without a doubt that the screen is one of the best aspects of this smartphone.

We recommend reading mobile phones with the best camera 2017

The presence of Android 7.0 without customization layers is a success, as it does not ensure that the performance of the terminal will not be weighed down by a resource-consuming software, very well in this regard. The performance of the terminal very good thanks to its processor with eight cores and the Mali T860 GPU. It is true that its Cortex A53 cores are not the most powerful but they offer a very good balance between performance and power consumption.

The quality of their cameras corresponds to what was expected or even something above if the light conditions are good, both the rear and the front behave quite well, logically, when it gets dark, they lose a lot of bellows as expected.

The autonomy has been really disappointing as it cannot reach 5 hours of screen, remember that it has a 7, 060 mAh battery so at least it should move around 10 hours and even more. Clearly there is something wrong with the power management of the software, something that Doogee should work to fix with an update.

If you are looking for a high-performance smarphone and you don't want to spend a lot of money, the Doogee BL7000 is an excellent option from 140 euros (on AliExpress or Gearbest) in the main Chinese online stores.
