Pixel 4 gesture control will not open to developers
Table of contents:
The Pixel 4 has several functions that are of interest to users. One of the most prominent on this phone is Motion Sense, the gesture control of the phone. It is a function that has been made possible by a small radar built into the top edge of the device. The company now gives us new data on this function, as it will not be opened to developers.
Pixel 4 gesture control won't open to developers
At least for the moment. For now, it is not going through their plans to offer the Motion Sense API to third parties. A decision that in the future could change.
Clear decision
Google's main reason for this is that they want to have control over this function in its first phase. Therefore, it would not be uncommon when these Pixel 4 have been on the market for some time, sometime in 2020, the decision is made to open said API for developers. Surely when this is going to happen the company itself announces it officially.
For now, gesture control on the phone is somewhat limited. Google's plans are that this function will gain prominence on their phones. But it is something that will expand over time, the function has yet to grow.
Most likely, we will see how the Pixel 4 will introduce improvements to Motion Sense over time. It is a function of interest to them, which promises to be useful and to be able to change the way the phone is used. When this happens, your API may open to developers.
