Intel skylake will support 4k and dx12
As it has been known in the last days, the future Skylake microprocessors of the giant Intel will have support for 4K video in addition to compatibility with the latest APIs.
Skylake-S integrated graphics will support the latest version of Open GL 5.x, Open CL 2.x, support for HEVC, VP8 and VP9 codecs, and DirectX12.
They will also include native support for resolutions up to 4096 × 2304, better known as 4K, with a 16:10 aspect ratio. Obviously, the iGPU does not have enough power to be able to reach the highest resolutions in today's games, but it does for 4K video playback and general screen management, which is great news for users who only depend on the iGPU.
