Intel's upcoming Tiger Lake processors will have great graphics power, as can be seen in these SiSoft Sandra benchmarks. With 96 power units and a 1.2 GHz speed, the iGPU is capable of producing the same graphics power as a PlayStation 4 console.

Intel Tiger Lake will have a graphic power similar to PlayStation 4

Intel's Tiger Lake chips can be a turning point in entry-level notebook graphics performance. This CPU from Intel has been seen in Sisoft Sandra with 96 UEs @ 1.2 GHz to offer a computing power of 1.84 TFLOPs.

If the ratio of UEs to SPs (or whatever you want to call them) remains the same, we would be seeing approximately 768 cores. With a frequency of 1.2 GHz, these cores will be able to produce 1.84 calculation TFLOPs. Interestingly, this is exactly the same level of graphics power that Sony's original PlayStation 4 had.

The Tiger Lake laptop processor basically has an Intel DG1 iGPU. The only difference is the power consumption and depending on whether it is a 25W piece or a 15W piece. That said, the chances of it outperforming NVIDIA's MX 150 iGPUs and probably even the MX250 are doable. In fact, sources say NVIDIA will dramatically cut prices for its commodity line and is preparing the MX350 to compete with TGL.

Wccftech's own source ensures that Tiger Lake processors will revolutionize entry-level notebook graphics. We will see if it is true. We will keep you informed.
