This time we bring you the analysis of the KFA2 GTX 1060 EXOC 6GB graphics card and Pascal core , EXOC heatsink and a great potential for overclocking.
For those who do not know KFA2 , known abroad as GALAX, it is one of the best graphics card manufacturers in the world and little by little it is coming to Spain. Do you want to know more about this fantastic graphics card? Do not worry! Do we explain everything you need to know?
We thank KFA2 for trusting the product for their analysis:

Design and unboxing
KFA2 makes us very pleasing to the eye with its pastel green color and ultra-compact design. In the front area we find an image of a ninja next to the model in question: GTX 1060.
Already in the rear area we have the main characteristics of the product. Where we can see its compatibility with virtual reality, surround experience and its new control software.
Once we open the product we find:
- KFA2 GTX 1060 EXOC 6GB graphics card Quick guide CD with drivers and management software.
The KFA2 GTX 1060 EXOC graphics card It uses the new Nvidia Pascal GP106 graphic architecture manufactured in 16 nm FinFET and with a die size of 200 mm2. Although, as you already know, being a very “small” chip, it is made up of 4.4 billion transistors, that is, we are facing one of the best advances in technology.
We continue talking about its internal characteristics, it has like all GTX 1060 with 10 Streaming Multiprocessors units, 1280 CUDA cores, 80 texturizing units (TMUs) and 48 crawling units (ROPs).
The dimensions of the graphics card are 268 x 139.1 x 41.5 mm, which incorporates a sober and very elegant design. It is not excessively large, it fits with all motherboards and has no colors so you can get tired of it.
Although now we are going to talk about its main specifications. The KFA2 GTX 1060 EXOC has Turbo B oost 3.0 technology and a unique profile that makes the graphics card run at 1544 MHz base and with the turbo it goes up to 1759 MHz.
The chosen memory is GDDR5 with a total computation of 6GB at 2000 MHz (8008 effective) and an incredible TDP of 120W. As always, we recommend using a quality power supply of at least 400W for these devices, that is, we are dealing with a real "lighter" graphics card.
The EXOC heatsink is chosen with two powerful 90mm fans that are always active but at very low speeds. The performance it has given us in our tests has been very good and you will see it in our corresponding section.
Rear view of the fantastic black painted aluminum backplate. All of those vents allow the graphics card to breathe better. Another function of this accessory is to stiffen the graphics card on our motherboard.
As power it has a 6-pin connection, more than enough, to perform a bit of overclocking and get almost 5% more performance .
Finally we show you the rear connections made up of:
- 2 DVI connection. 1 Displayport connection. 1 HDMI connection.
PCB and internal components
To remove the heatsink we must remove four screws located on the chip and the heatsink comes out directly. This one has two 6mm nickel-plated copper heatpipes and another 8mm. It also has an infinite foil aluminum surface to cool the entire graphics card in one piece.
It also has a heatsink for its 5 + 1 power phases. Quite effective since you leave them very cool.
We leave you several images dotted so that you can see the great work that has been done by the colleagues of KFA2 in the integration of each component.

For benchmarks we will use the following titles:
- 3DMark Fire Strike normal.3DMark Fire Strike version 4K.3dMark Time Spy.Heaven 4.0.Doom 4.Overwatch.Tomb Raider.Battlefield 4.Mirror's Edge Catalyst (New) .
All tests have been passed with the filters to the maximum unless we indicate otherwise. In order to have adequate performance, we have carried out three types of tests: the first is the most common at Full HD 1920 x 1080, the second resolution is making the leap to 2K or 1440P (2560 x 1440P) gamers and the most enthusiastic with 4K (3840 x 2160). The operating system we have used has been Windows 10 Pro 64 bit and the latest drivers available from the Nvidia website.
What are we looking for in the tests?
First, the best possible image quality. The most important value for us is the average FPS (Frames per second), the higher the number of FPS the more fluid the game will go. To differentiate the quality a bit, we leave you a table to assess the quality in FPS, but we will also have the minimum Fps in the tests that were thus possible:
FRAMES BY SECONDS |
|
Frames for Seconds. (FPS) |
Gameplay |
Less than 30 FPS | Limited |
30 - 40 FPS | Playable |
40 - 60 FPS | Good |
Greater than 60 FPS | Fairly Good or Excellent |
Synthetic benchmarks
We attach the most important tests that we can do at synthetic levels, among them we find: 3DMARK FireStrike normal, 3DMARK FireStrike in its 4K version, the new Time Spy and Heaven 4.0 with DirectX 12 support.
Game Testing
We have decided to make the leap to checking various games manually. The reason? Very simple, we want to give a much more realistic vision and cover tests with current games. Since we make an effort, it is consistent with the level of the website and that of our readers.

Overclocking
Note: Remember that overclocking or manipulation carries a risk, we and any manufacturer are not responsible for improper use, use the head and always do so at your own risk.
We have increased the overclocking capacity in + 160 MHz in the core to a maximum of 2100 MHz (base runs at 1949 MHz) and the memories in +400 Mhz with a setting of 2202 MHz.
The results are as expected, since we have obtained 12151 points in Fire Strike, which is a quite palpable improvement to the stock frequencies. Although in games if we notice the improvement in about 5 FPS depending on the game.
Temperature and consumption
The temperatures of the KFA2 GTX1060 EXOC have been excellent and with a really low loudness. At rest we have obtained 29ºC and reaches 64ºC at maximum power. As the overclocking has been quite aggressive, the temperatures have not felt resentful either, and have risen to 68ºC.
Another of the great advantages of this range is the reduced consumption that we have in the equipment. Until very recently it was unthinkable to have high-end graphics and get 62W at idle and 195W playing with an Intel i7-6700K processor at stock speeds. When we have done some overclocking it has gone up to 208 W at maximum performance.
Final words and conclusion about KFA2 GTX 1060 EXOC
The KFA2 GTX 1060 EXOC graphics card is one of the best quality / price models of the GTX 1060 at launch. It incorporates a nice and effective heatsink with 90mm fans, a custom PCB, a 6-pin power supply and support for virtual reality.
Although the graphics card is already quite uploaded from the factory to 1759 MHz, we have been able to overclock it a little more and get better performance without losing much of its fantastic consumption. Best of all, its temperatures have hardly been affected and it allows us to get the most out of it.
Are you looking for a new graphics card? Do you want to know which are the best? We recommend our guide to the best graphics cards on the market. That soon we will incorporate this new GTX 1060 EXOC.
In short, we are facing one of the best graphics cards on the market with compatibility for virtual reality, playing in 1080 or 2K, with an elegant, sober design and with a really tempting price that does not exceed 300 euros. Can we ask for more? This time we have it very difficult.
