The graphics card is protected in a compact cardboard box. Its presentation is quite minimalist and uses the corporate colors of the company: green and black. On the cover we have a striking phrase "What´s Your Game?" ? While in the back we have the most relevant technical characteristics detailed.

Once we opened the box we found another cardboard box that houses the KFA2 GTX 960 EXOC. The graphics card is sealed in a plastic bag and inside we find:

The KFA2 is 27.1 x 12.4 x 4.15 cm in size and light in weight. The design is truly impressive with a heatsink with three heatpipes and a 90mm dual fan system.

In the rear area we have an aluminum backplate that covers the entire PCB and helps its cooling. It also serves to provide rigidity and a more pleasant appearance in our system.

The cooling system incorporates 0dB True technology. What does it mean? That the fans are stopped until 65ºC, when they exceed, it is activated to reduce temperatures. In other words, there will be games that the fans won't even activate…

To mount the card in our equipment we will need to connect the 8- pin power connector and a PCI Express x16 port. For its installation we will need a 400W power supply and it allows us to install up to one SLI of two graphics cards.

To finish we detail the rear connections:

Cooling and custom PCB

We start by opening the KFA2 GTX 960 EXOC. The heatsink features three nickel-plated copper heatpipes and a copper base that cools the GM206 28nm TSMC graphics chip with 1024 CUDA CORES. It has Samsung memories at a speed of 7010 MHz GDDR5 that make a total of 4GB GDDR5. The processor core runs at base frequency at 1266 MHz and turbo boost up to 1329 MHz, a 128-Bit bus and memory width of 112 GB / sec.

In addition to cooling the chipset, we have a very effective small heatsink for the power phases. Cooling is excellent as the memories are cooled by thermal pads that contact the heatsink directly. Possibly one of the best custom GTX 960s on the market.

All tests will be passed in their maximum configuration unless it is stated differently in the graph. And this time we will do it in two resolutions, the most popular today: 1080P (1920 × 1080) and a slightly higher one: 2K or 1440P (2560x1440P). The operating system used will be the new Windows 10 Pro 64 bit and the latest drivers available from the Nvidia website.

What are we looking for in the tests?

First, the best possible image quality. The most important value for us is the average FPS (Frames per second), the higher the number of FPS, the more fluid the game will be. To differentiate the quality a bit, we leave you a table to assess the quality in FPS, but we will also have the minimum Fps in the tests that were thus possible:

Overclock and first impressions

Note: Remember that overclocking or manipulation carries a risk, we and any manufacturer are not responsible for improper use, use the head and always do so at your own risk.

We have increased the overclocking capacity by +50 which is 1316 Mhz and memories up to 1750 Mhz. The improvements we find are about 3 to 4 fps without touching voltage. Who needs to get a little more out of "Chicha" is an excellent graphics card. We are sure that we can get more out of it, but it involved sending more voltage to it.

Temperature and consumption

As always we have evaluated the consumption and temperatures of the KFA2 GTX 960 EXOC. With this table we will have a general reference with other current or previous generation cards. Consumption and temperatures have been verified by reading the maximum peak, passing the Metro Last Light benchmark 3 times, ideal for how demanding it becomes. and Furmark to check extreme temperature during a 2 hour cycle.

The KFA2 GTX 960 EXOC has performed efficiently with a standby power consumption of 59W (All Equipment Complete) and an average of 201W. In temperatures the performance has also been excellent with 38ºC at rest and 61ºC at maximum power playing. Passing Furmark has risen to 74ºC.

Final words and conclusion.

It is our first contact with the KFA2 brand and it could not have been better. The 4GB KFA2 GTX 960 EXOC is without a doubt the best custom graphics card in this range. With a large overclock and high durability components.

I really liked the cooling system, which keeps the standard fans off until it reaches 65ºC. We have also obtained a large overclocking capacity and very measured consumption.

You can currently find it available in the Spanish Aussar store (on request). Its price should be around 266 to 270 euros.
