The competition to have the best graphics card on the market is getting tougher, and KFA2 with the launch of its KFA2 GTX 1070 EXOC Sniper makes it very difficult, with its great overclocking capacity, its quality backplate, ingenious lighting system and a very quiet cooling system.
We thank KFA2 for trusting the product for their analysis. Here we go!
KFA2 GTX 1070 EXOC Sniper technical features
Design and unboxing
KFA2 presents us in a cardboard box for the KFA2 GTX 1070 EXOC Sniper. On its cover we see in large letters the model and in square the exact version and model. In addition, its compatibility with virtual reality, DirectX 12, etc…
While in the rear area all the most important technical characteristics and the main novelties of this magnificent graphics card.
Once we open the graphics card we find a classic bundle:
- KFA2 GTX 1070 EXOC Sniper. Brochures and Quick Guide. Two thieves for PCI power connection.
The KFA2 GTX 1070 EXOC Sniper it uses the Pascal GP104-200 chip slightly cut in features. This core It is manufactured in 16 nm FinFET and has a reduced size of only 314 mm2 that demonstrates the great concentrated power that the Nvidia Pascal architecture is capable of offering. It is a chip with 7.2 billion transistors, which we can deduce that it is an engineering masterpiece, with a total of 1, 920 CUDA cores along with 120 TMUs and 64 ROPs. The core works with base specifications of 1594 MHz and with Boost up to 17844 MHz.
The GPU is accompanied by 8 GB of GDDR5 memory at a maximum frequency in its 8, 000 MHz overclocked mode and with a 256-bit interface to offer a maximum bandwidth of 266 GB / s. A few more than enough figures for a graphics card that will be able to handle most of the games on the market at 4K resolution and with very remarkable levels of detail. In the previous image you can see a rear view of the backplate of the graphics card.
The EXOC heatsink is chosen with two powerful 100mm fans incorporating 0DB technology to improve loudness at rest. What does this mean? What when the equipment is turned on and does not demand enough graphic power, it does not heat up and its fans do not start. In the case that we start playing, they activate (at 60ºc) and keep the entire graphics card at fantastic temperatures.
Unlike the KFA2 GTX 1070 HOF we reviewed a few weeks ago, the heatsink occupies only a total of two expansion slots in our system making it a very good candidate for compact gear or even mounting an SLI.

- Professional Review (@ProfesionalRev) December 13, 2016
The heatsink also incorporates an RGB lighting system in the upper area, which allows us to customize 16.8 million colors and various lighting effects. As expected it has the SLI connectors for the new SLI HB bridge. One of its novelties is its backlit methacrylate backplate, which as we see in our Twitter video, is impressive.
Finally we detail the rear connections composed of:
- 1 DVI connection. 3 Displayport connections. 1 HDMI connections.
PCB and internal components
To remove the heatsink we must remove four screws located on the chip and the two that hold the heatsink that cools the power supply phases. As we can see the heatsink has thermaldpads in the memories and the VRM. The base is copper and supported by 2 nickel plated heatpipes.
The KFA2 GTX 1070 EXOC Sniper features a custom PCB with 5+ 2 power phases: two for memories and five for the core. As usual, it incorporates first-class components with G-Anti-noise Ultra Low ESR technology and a reinforced PCB with new protection. What makes the graphics card a really special component, at the level of the HOF series.

For benchmarks we will use the following titles:
- 3DMark Fire Strike normal.3DMark Fire Strike version 4K.Heaven 4.0.Doom 4.Overwatch.Tomb Raider.Battlefield 4.
All tests have been passed with the filters to the maximum unless we indicate otherwise. In order to have adequate performance, we have carried out three types of tests: the first is the most common at Full HD 1920 x 1080, the second resolution is making the leap to 2K or 1440P (2560 x 1440P) gamers and the most enthusiastic with 4K (3840 x 2160). The operating system we have used has been Windows 10 Pro 64 bit and the latest drivers available from the Nvidia website.
What are we looking for in the tests?
First, the best possible image quality. The most important value for us is the average FPS (Frames per second), the higher the number of FPS the more fluid the game will go. To differentiate the quality a bit, we leave you a table to assess the quality in FPS, but we will also have the minimum Fps in the tests that were thus possible:
FRAMES BY SECONDS |
|
Frames for Seconds. (FPS) |
Gameplay |
Less than 30 FPS | Limited |
30 - 40 FPS | Playable |
40 - 60 FPS | Good |
Greater than 60 FPS | Fairly Good or Excellent |
Synthetic benchmarks
As always we have passed the three most important tests in synthetic benchmarks: normal 3DMARK, its 4K version and the Heaven 4 version. The results are far superior to the rest of the GTX 1070 that we have analyzed, since it comes standard up to 2.05 GHz. stable.
Game Testing
We have decided to make the leap to checking various games manually. The reason? Very simple, we want to give a much more realistic vision and cover tests with current games. Since we make an effort, it is consistent with the level of the website and that of our readers.
WE RECOMMEND YOUGTX 1080: Nvidia would present it at the GTCTesting in Full HD games

Xtreme Tuner Plus
From the KFA2 website we can download its Xtreme Tuner Plus management software, What does it allow us to customize? Rather, it does not allow us… We have several established profiles that start an overclock of 5%, we can set the values by hand, control the fans and the voltage.
Lighting is one of the improvements we have found in this new version . It allows us to select between several modes (static, by cycles and turn off the lighting system…) and choose from 16.8 million colors both in the RGB backplate and in the upper area.
Overclock and first impressions
Note: Remember that overclocking or manipulation carries a risk, we and any manufacturer are not responsible for improper use, use the head and always do so at your own risk.
We have been able to tighten the graphics card a lot with +100 points having a really good result. We have also noticed that in our tests, raising the nucleus hardly always represents a 1 to 3% improvement , while if we upload the memories (as in this case they are Samsung) we can gain up to 10% more power. The frequencies reached have been 2098 MHz in the core and + 300 points in memory.
Temperature and consumption
Consumption lives up to expectations set at 67 W idle and 259 W at full performance. All this playing with an Intel Core i7-6700k processor and air dissipation. It's great!
Important: The consumption is of the complete equipment.
The temperatures of the KFA2 GTX 1070 EXOC Sniper are really good, we have obtained 35ºC and it reaches a maximum of 65ºC playing in 4K resolutions. As the overclocking has been quite restrained, because we did not want to force them, the temperatures have barely risen to 68ºC .
Final words and conclusion about KFA2 GTX 1070 EXOC Sniper
If you are looking for a high-end graphics card, with great features for overclocking, a good semi-fanless heatsink, an incredible aesthetic and above all something quite special that makes you stand out from the rest of the computer, the KFA2 GTX 1070 EXOC Sniper will be your card graph.
We recommend reading our article: What card do I buy?
In our tests we have seen exceptional performance in 2560 x 1440p resolution and more than remarkable performance in 4K resolution. Without depriving ourselves of a low loudness and a very good customization from your software.
Currently we find it in online stores for a price of 476 euros with immediate stock. We believe that today, it is one of the best options that we can acquire, and more considering its great overclocking capacity.
