Kingston SSDNow UV400: unboxing and design

We find a basic presentation in a cardboard box and a plastic blister that protects the Kingston SSDnow UV400. On the cover we can see that it is the 480GB version, which offers a 3-year warranty and uses the Sata 3 connection at 6GB / s.

As with the previous Kingston SSD that we analyzed we do not have any additional accessories. At least a 2.5 ″ to 3.5 ″ adapter always comes in handy or software to migrate our traditional hard drive.

Its format is 2.5 inches using the traditional SATA connection and has dimensions of 100 x 69.9 x 7.0 mm and a weight of 57 grams. For optimal cooling use the metal casing for cooling, but in our tests we have found that everything is in perfect condition.

On the back we see a sticker with all the technical characteristics of the product, serial number and its certifications.

Among its technical specifications we find a Marvell 88SS1074 triple core controller and NAND TLC memory chips that offer good performance. This unit has a 480GB capacity ideal for the use of high-performance gaming and editing programs.

We also find 550MB / s read and 500MB / s write slightly better than the disk competition. Maximum 4K rates stay at 99, 000 IOPS and random 4K rates are 35, 000 IOPS.

Regarding electricity consumption, we have 0.59W at rest and 2.51W when it is at maximum power writing. It also supports operating temperatures between 0ºC to 70ºC. Finally, point out that its MTBF 1 million hours and is resistant to vibrations of up to 2.17 G.
