Logitech g pro x keyboard review in Spanish (complete analysis)

Table of contents:

Anonim

Wherever there is a competitive keyboard, we go. We love quality peripherals and nothing else, but Logitech hardly ever disappoints. That is why today we bring you the Logitech G Pro X, the revision of the Logitech G Pro ready for the highest level gaming.

One of the most reliable brands in peripherals, whether for general office automation or gaming of the highest level.

Logitech G Pro X Unboxing

You already know where we are going to start. The box-type box in which the Logitech G Pro X is presented is made of classic black satin cardboard. On its cover we receive the reflective image of the keyboard with the logo of the brand and model name. It also presents the keyboard certificate in Spanish format and the type of switch it has incorporated: GX blue clicky.

On the sides, for its part, we have the technical specifications and logos of some of the E-Sports teams that use Logitech in their equipment.

On the back we can read the slogan Play to win along with some strengths with a reflective black finish:

  • Model without keypad Player interchangeable switches LightSync RGB lighting On-board lighting profile 12 programmable buttons One millisecond response Stranded pull-out cable

When we open the box, the Logitech G Pro X receives us in a transparent plastic wrap and when we take it out we will find the rest of the components below.

The contents of the box are summarized in:

Logitech G Pro X Design

The Logitech G Pro X is a keyboard made of plastic and ABS keys. It weighs 898g and has an untextured matte black finish.

Frame

On the sides, on the other hand, it is plastic, it has a more intense black color and it is reflective along the entire edge of its base.

It is on the right side where we can see the Pro series name with a matte gray screenprint, and it is along with the logo that is in the upper area of the keyboard the only element that reveals its Logitech brand.

Continuing with the sides, the keyboard presents by default an almost horizontal structure to the desktop if the elevator pins are not used. The Logitech G Pro X features two pairs of lift lugs assembled together (the small one within the same hinge as the large hinge). This allows the keyboard to have two alternative lift positions depending on user preference.

If we turn it over, we see that the Logitech G Pro X consists of five non-slip rubber supports. This reverse surface features a diagonal ribbed texture with bas-relief.

On the central label we have the Logitech logo, model name and some additional information such as percentage of voltage, amps and quality certificates.

Switches

We go to the main focus of the analysis: the switches. The peculiarity of this keyboard is that they are not welded to the chassis, but if we buy a model (blue, for example) and after some time we want to change, there is no need to buy a new keyboard. Instead, we can buy a pack of switches of the desired color and exchange it for the original.

Logitech offers its original GX switches in the three best-known variants:

  • Red (linear): we did not find resistance to pressing, ideal for playing. Blue (clicky): they have a slight resistance to writing and are louder. For many users they are ideal for writing. Brown (tactile): of the three models, in a way it is a balance between red and blue. It presents a first tactile contact similar to blue, but its operating point is at 1.9mm just like in red.
The choice of one switch or another is very personal and highly dependent on each user. We personally are very much in favor of linear red switches. Of the three models, it is the one that requires the least actuation force and we like the absence of resistance in the pulsed path.

Speaking of swapping switches, this is where the key extractor comes included in the box. This not only allows us to remove the covers, but once the keycap has been removed we can lift the switch in the same way leaving the circuit in sight.

At the time of doing this review, Logitech has provided us with the boxes with 92 interchangeable switches. In these boxes each switch is protected in its own foam mold and comes with a key extractor.

These switch boxes can be purchased separately with a price of € 51.99 today.

Continuing with the switches, it is worth mentioning those that we can find in the upper right corner on the front of the keyboard. These two buttons control two factors locally: the activation and deactivation of the game mode and the intensity of the lighting.

The wire

Taking up the cable factor, Logitech G Pro X brings us a braided fiber cable with a length of 180cm. Its two jacks consist of a USB type A and the connection to the keyboard through a micro USB with a reinforced fastening to avoid unwanted disconnections.

Putting Logitech G Pro X into use

Our first impression using the keyboard has been excellent. Its format makes it an extremely handy model like a good TKL, and the key print has a consistent thickness that greatly facilitates its readability. However, if we use it without lighting, reading them is quite difficult unless we are working in an environment with intense lighting.

The reinforcement that we have for the micro USB seems to us quite a success since it makes us have to make a certain effort to disconnect the cable. For many suspicious, this information will be a guarantee that even if they move their keyboard on the desk, the removable cable will not go for a walk. The bad aspect of this connection, however, is that it is located in the central rear area of the keyboard. This means that we cannot change the position of the cable under the structure for one more favorable to the distribution of our desk.

Regarding the keystroke, many of you are familiar with Logitech GX switches. The range developed by the brand follows the premises set by the prestigious Cherry MX. Its main difference is that depending on the model the travel of the Logitech switches is slightly shorter, but requires a little more activation force.

For more documentation in this regard, we recommend that you take a look at the section on Logitech switches on its official website.

illumination

One of our favorite sections. The RGB lighting of the Logitech G Pro X keyboard is individual per key and has a very good maximum intensity. This added to the thickness of the serigraphy on the molds gives the keys an unbeatable presence and clear reading.

When we first connect the Logitech G Pro X, the default light cycle is automatically activated. As previously noted, the Logitech logo in the upper left corner joins the party of lights.

We can also see the white LED lighting of the sneakers on capitalization or scroll lock. The game mode lock is also blank, while the button that controls the intensity of the lighting is part of the RGB cycles.

As you can imagine, the lighting patterns are fully customizable using the Logitech G HUB software, which we will discuss below.

software

We come to the software, and it is that if we talk about lighting, macros and others we cannot avoid talking about Logitech G HUB. This is one of the latest Logitech programs and features a simple, elegant and efficient interface.

This software has many panels to configure but it maintains a neat interface to make things easier for the user.

Mainly we have three main options:

  1. LightSync: lighting options, patterns, speed, direction and intensity. Assignments: manages the active keys and allows setting commands, keys, actions, macros and system control. Game mode: disable the keys, either preselected by defects or customized.

Finally, it is worth mentioning that all the aforementioned changes can be saved in the local memory integrated in the keyboard.

Final words and conclusions about Logitech G Pro X

The Logitech G Pro X is a keyboard that is simple in design and functional as a whole. Its TKL format makes it a compact keyboard, although we will not be able to count on extras such as palm rests. The lighting is excellent and the Logitech G HUB software seems to be 10 for both setting macros and commands or associating the execution of programs like Discord with specific buttons.

The starting price of the Logitech G Pro X is € 155.00. It is priced slightly higher than its predecessor, the Logitech G Pro. The difference between the two is that the original G Pro only had blue click switches while in the G Pro X we can choose between red, blue and brown. In addition, if we later change our mind we can always buy the pack of spare switches.

Some users will think that it is a somewhat excessive price of keyboard for a model whose chassis is made of plastic, but the choice of this material is understandable if we consider its use. Being a keyboard designed for competitions, this implies that in theory we are going to move around a lot with it. This is why the cable is removable, and also because lighter materials than steel and aluminum have been selected for the chassis.

What do we think of this choice? Well considering that on the other hand we gain in versatility being able to choose between switches and also change them later if we want to, we believe that much less is sacrificed than what is gained with this design. A concept like this not only lengthens the life of our keyboard, but makes it easier for us to change faulty switches ourselves without having to shell out the amount of money a competition keyboard requires again.

In short: is the Logitech G Pro X worth it? Yes, without a doubt. If you want a high-level gaming keyboard without a numeric keyboard, this is undoubtedly one of the best choices.
