The MSI X370 Gaming M7 ACK comes packed in a standard size cardboard box. An aggressive design predominates along with a perfect image of the motherboard that we have acquired. At first, paint everything great!

The MSI X370 Gaming M7 ACK is an ATX format motherboard with dimensions of 30.5 cm x 24.4 cm for socket AM4. Its design is very futuristic and will perfectly match any component. As expected, it is compatible with the current generation of AMD Ryzen processors in its Ryzen 7, Ryzen 5, Ryzen 3, APU and Athlon series. And it will be for future reviews that AMD launches during this year 2018.

The MSI X370 Gaming M7 ACK features two zones with cooling: 10 + 2 power phases and one for the X370 chipset. All its components are armored with Military Class technology. If you do not know this technology, we will explain it to you briefly… It is summarized in that it incorporates improved components: power supply phases, CHOKES, capacitors of better quality than the rest of the most basic range and endless features that make it unique.

Although its 10 + 2 power phases are enough to cool the motherboard, MSI has not chosen the top-of-the-range models it mounts on Intel platforms. This implies that with respect to other motherboards of the same price, we present a slightly higher VDROOP and it does not rise as much to the processor. Something to keep in mind and that we have reported to the company. But is dangerous? Not at all, it's just not on the crest of the wave.

The board incorporates a total of 4 64 GB NON-ECC compatible DDR4 RAM memory sockets with frequencies up to 3200 + MHz on Dual Channel. Obviously it is fully compatible with the A-XMP profile of AMD and we have verified with our G.Skill Flare X that they are 100% compatible.

The MSI X370 Gaming M7 ACK incorporates a very interesting distribution of its PCI Express connections. It has three PCIe 3.0 to x16 slots and another three normal PCIe to x1. The first two PCI Express 3.0 to x16 incorporate a "Steel Armor" armor that better cushions high-end graphics and improves connectivity between them.

MSi has both inhabited the support for 2 Way in AMD's CrossfireX . As expected, in both cases we would have a configuration of x8 - x8.

On top of the maximum speed storage it has two M.2 NVME connections to install any SSD with type 2242/2260/2280/22110 format. As we have already discussed, these devices are very fast and have a bandwidth speed of up to 32 GB / s. In addition, it incorporates the renovated MSI Shield M.2 cooling system with a large metal frame and a fairly good quality thermal pad.

Regarding storage, it presents a total of six 6 GB / s SATA III connections with support for RAID 0.1, 5 and 10 plus a SLOT U.2 that is hardly used today. It is complemented by an internal USB 3.0 connection so characteristic in this range of motherboards.

As we have already seen in the high-end it has the Audio Boost 4 technology. As many you know, this technology uses better (premium) components, improves sound quality and compatibility with very high-end headphones. Now it is a luxury to do without a dedicated sound card.

It also features RGB Mystic Light technology with a 16.8 million color palette. In addition to lighting the motherboard, it allows you to connect an LED strip to be able to personalize all the options from your smartphone.

To check the stability of the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X processor at 3900 MHZ and the motherboard we have stressed with Prime 95 Custom and air cooling. The graphics we have used is an Nvidia GTX1080 Ti, without further delay, let's see the results obtained in our tests with a 1920 × 1080 monitor.

BIOS

MSI continues with its classic AMIBIOS and with the same design that has been used to us for several generations. From it it allows us to manage any important parameters of the motherboard, manage hard drives, monitor temperatures and overclock with several clicks. As we have seen the MSI X370 Gaming M7 ACK is an ATX format motherboard that offers excellent performance for the AM4 platform: design, a pretty good BIOS, improved sound and efficient cooling.

We have to give MSI an ear tug , since the phases used are not the cream of the cream (as we are used to on its Intel platform), but it still offers remarkable performance. It is what makes it one step behind compared to other manufacturers, but the rest of the features are excellent.

Our gaming experience with an Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition has been extraordinary and we haven't missed anything from other competing platforms. Although we have not overclocked as well, the Ryzen 7 1800X as with other models. We had chicken dinner a couple of nights!

Its price in online store ranges from 229 euros. We believe that it is a good price and that if you want to have your complete MSI set (graphics card, motherboard and monitor) it is a pretty good option.
