Nvidia wants to license their gpus maxwell
Traditionally Nvidia has not licensed its GPUs to any other company, in other words only Nvidia has used its own GPUs. However, the graphics giant wants to change this and since June last year it has transformed its GPU division into the “IP” model of intellectual property.
At the moment, no SoCs manufacturer has shown interest in using Nvidia's Kepler graphics, but it seems that Maxwell is of interest to the rest of the manufacturers and Nvidia is negotiating with them to grant them the right to use their latest generation GPUs.
This would allow ARM chip manufacturers to differentiate themselves from other solutions by integrating Nvidia graphics that have shown much greater energy efficiency than previous Kepler architecture in their designs.
