Nvidia tegra x1, first mobile chip that reaches 1 tflop of power
The Nvidia Tegra K1 chip has been on the market for a long time, a time that has served to demonstrate that it is the most powerful processor for mobile devices ever created with a graphics power far superior to that of its rivals. Nvidia is not resting on its laurels and has announced its successor, the Tegra X1.
The new Nvidia Tegra X1 chip will be manufactured at 20nm and promises a huge performance boost thanks to the use of eight ARM processing cores in big.LITTLE configuration with four Cortex A57 cores and four other Cortex A53 cores.
Its graphics performance will also be greatly improved thanks to the use of Nvidia's Maxwell architecture, the Tegra X1 will have 2 SMMs totaling 256 CUDA Cores Maxwell to far exceed the performance of the Tegra K1, the new Tegra X1 is the first chip for mobile devices that reach the power TERAFLOP.
Despite the fact that the new Tegra X1 will be up to twice as powerful as its predecessor, its power consumption will be lower with a TDP of 10W.
Among its multimedia qualities we highlight its ability to play 4K content at 60 fps and 1080p 120 fps for an excellent experience.
