To check the stability of the Intel Core i7-8700K processor in stock values and the motherboard we have stressed it with Prime 95 Custom and air cooling. The graphics that we have brought to the test bench is a powerful Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti. Without further ado let's see the results obtained in our tests with a 1920 x 1080 monitor.

BIOS

The BIOS is perhaps its weakest point, although we believe that with a little time it will improve some details. The first that we did not like is that it does not allow screenshots of the BIOS sections. Since when did we not take pictures on a motherboard? hehe The other is that at the overclock level it has great potential but all in manual mode, although it would be interesting to offer other modes such as offset, which is more efficient and will allow energy savings to be activated all at rest.

CAM software

The CAM software offers everything you need, with the possibility of managing all the parameters in a very simple and intuitive way. NZXT N7 includes key features of the HUE + and GRID + digital controllers, allowing intuitive control of two RGB lighting channels and nine fan channels through the CAM app.

NZXT's exclusive Adaptive Noise Reduction uses a built-in noise sensor to measure and understand system details to find the ideal balance between fan speed and cooling. This allows for up to a 40% reduction in fan noise level without compromising cooling capacity.

The NZXT N7 enters through the big door! Its minimalist design, its 15 power supply phases, the personalized combination of colors in its fairing, the possibility of overclocking and the great variety of its connectors are its main virtues.

We liked that as standard it does not incorporate LEDs on the motherboard, but if you want to have good lighting it includes some good LED strips to adhere to the chassis.

Regarding performance we have tested an i7-8700k at 5 GHz and a memory kit at 3600 MHz without any problem. Together with an Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti we have delighted in games in Full HD and 4K resolution.

The blackest mole is found in its BIOS. Not because it goes wrong, but because it has a long way to go. A clear example is not including the possibility of making screenshots (as you have seen we have had to take photos to show you) or that it only allows you to manually overclock (we miss the offset or adaptive options). These couple of details are quite important when updating in future BIOS updates. Although you have to give it a little margin, as it is the first time that they have manufactured a motherboard.
