What is raspberry pi?
It is a low-cost board designed in the United Kingdom by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. Manufactured to stimulate the teaching of computer science in schools or at home. Its main objective is to run a Linux distribution or RISC OS.

As we can see among its features it incorporates an ARM processor, a graphics card that is capable of playing full hd video, 512 megabytes of RAM, RJ45 ethernet output, card reader and two USB connectors. Without a doubt one of the most powerful boards on the market.
For its operation we need an SD card, recommended 8GB that are cheap, a Mini USB cable and power adapter.
There are millions of projects on the net. The ones I see most interesting are: Media Center, Arcade, Home Automation, robot control, computing, even a coffee maker and a download server.

Where can I buy it?
There are two electronic component sales websites that distribute the Raspberry Pi: RS Components and Farnell by
25.92 pounds and 33.47 pounds respectively. The estimated time is 3-5 weeks depending on availability. I bought my Raspberry Pi at Farnell and it took me only two weeks. With shipping costs it cost me € 46.
