Scythe makes a minimalist presentation for his Scyhte Ninja 4 . On the cover we can see the "Ninja" of the heatsinks. As we are used to in the back we have all the most important technical characteristics of the heatsink.
Once we open the box we find a bundle consisting of:
- Ninja 4 heatsink . 120mm fan. Mounting kit for Intel and AMD socket. Fan clips. Thermal paste.
We have a monstrous size of 130 x 153 x 155 and an approximate weight of 780 grams without fan and 900 grams with fan. The Scyhte Ninja 4 is built on a single tower with 36 aluminum fins welded to six thick heatpipes that are responsible for transmitting heat to the fins.
As you can see in the images it is a voluminous heatsink and it was quite pleasing to the eye with a brilliant design. In the upper area, a Shuriken divided by four mini towers is engraved.
The nickel-plated copper base is in charge of being in contact with the processor. It has a mirror finish.
The Scythe Ninja 4 allows us to install up to two fans. Standard features a 120mm GlideStream (Model SY1225SHB12H-PS). It has a minimum rotation of 300 RPM and is capable of reaching a fantastic 1500 RPM always controlled by the motherboard (4-pin cable). It gives off an air flow of 84.64 CFM and a maximum loudness of 29.5 dBA. Its life time is 150, 000 hours.
As you can see in this image, the fan incorporates a small controller to synchronize it at three speeds.

LGA 1151 socket installation
We have chosen the LGA 1151 platform which is the most recent and which many users are already using. The first step is to place the backplate with the four screws in the middle position on the back of the motherboard.
We proceed to fix the four plastic spacers and the 4 thread screws.
Next we will place the two plates in the central holes that are compatible with the LGA 115x platform. We will apply thermal paste in the processor and fix the heatsink.
Now we only have to connect the power cable (4 pins - PWM) to the motherboard. And we can see how it looks with a high-end motherboard. The assembly would be as follows:

To test the real performance of the heatsink we are going to stress the best processors on the market: Intel Skylake i5-6600k. Our tests consist of 72 uninterrupted hours of work. In stock values and with overclocked 4600 mhz. In this way we can observe the highest temperature peaks and the average that the heatsink reaches. We must bear in mind that when playing or using other types of software, temperatures will drop dramatically between 7 to 12ºC.
How are we going to measure the processor temperature?
We will use the internal sensors of the processor. For that test on Intel processors we will use the CPUID HwMonitor application in its latest version. Although it is not the most reliable test of the moment, it will be our reference in all our analyzes. The ambient temperature is 20º.

Final words and conclusion
The Scythe Ninja 4 is a mid-range heatsink but with performance at the height of the high-end. In our test bench it has been able to withstand the temperatures of the i5-6600k very well with 29ºC at rest and 57ºC at maximum performance.
In short, the Scythe Ninja 4 is the perfect heatsink for users looking for a quality / price ratio. It is currently in store for a price of 44 euros.
