Sharkoon Skiller SGK3 is a complete mechanical keyboard that makes use of Kailh switches in different versions, thanks to which it can offer a great user experience at a fairly reasonable price. Its characteristics continue with an RGB lighting system with different effects and intensity regulation, as well as a very robust design based on high-quality plastic and aluminum.

First of all, we are grateful to Sharkoon for the trust he placed in ceding the product to us for analysis.

Sharkoon Skiller SGK3: technical characteristics

Unboxing and design

The Sharkoon Skiller SGK3 comes with a presentation very similar to that seen in previous products of the brand, it is a large cardboard box with a design based on the colors black and blue in a dominant way. On the front we see an image of the keyboard, as well as the layout it presents, this time we find a distribution of ES keys, something that we thank the brand for. In the back, all the characteristics of the keyboard are detailed, such as its high-quality design with the upper part reinforced in aluminum and the Kailh Red mechanisms.

We open the box and we find the keyboard protected by a transparent plastic cover and two pieces of foam that are responsible for accommodating it and preventing its movement until it reaches the hands of its end user. Next to the keyboard we find the documentation.

Sharkoon Skiller SGK3 is a full-format keyboard, that is, it integrates the number block of the right unit so that it will be ideal for users who use it frequently. The keyboard has dimensions of 458 x 220 x 44 mm and a weight of 1, 300 grams, quite high and that will help it to be totally stable on the table.

The keyboard construction is excellent, with very good quality aluminum and black plastic, we see that the manufacturer has not wanted to save excessively despite being a keyboard with a very tight sale price. We found a total of 1 2 multimedia keys to access the most common controls in a very comfortable way, as well as the gaming mode that will prevent us from accidentally pressing the Windows key.

As for the mechanical switches, it is the Kailh, we have been sent the version with Red type switches, mechanisms that are usually the most used by players for their very smooth operation. These mechanisms have an activation stroke of 2 mm and a maximum stroke of 4 mm with an activation force of 45 grams. They are quite soft and totally linear mechanisms. The Kailh have a life of 50 million keystrokes so we have a keyboard for a while.

All keys have a 1000 Hz ultrapolling and anti-ghosting technology with 26 n-Key Rollover (NKRO), so that the keyboard is capable of detecting the simultaneous pressing of up to 26 keys without collapsing.

Sharkoon Skiller SGK3 presents an RGB backlight system that we can regulate both in color and intensity and light effects, to leave it as we like, we have several light effects among which we highlight some as popular as static lighting, wave effect, breathing, sweeping and others. The lighting is really very intense, so much so that it will not be necessary to put it to the maximum to see it perfectly during the day.

In the back we find two folding plastic legs that allow us to slightly lift the keyboard for greater comfort of use. Its braided cable has a length of 1.8 meters and at the end we find a gold-plated USB connector to improve contact and protect it from wear.

SKILLER MECH SGK3 software

Sharkoon puts at our disposal advanced software so that we can get the most out of the keyboard. It is not really necessary to install the software, since we can control the different functions of the keyboard by means of key combinations, except the recording of macros. We can download the software from the manufacturer's website, and its installation does not entail any secret.

The application is divided into sections, all of them organized in a very clear way so that the user does not have problems when using it. The first section allows us to adjust the polling rate from 125 Hz to 1000 Hz, as well as switch between profiles and configure each of the keys. From here we can access the powerful macro manager.

Next we have the lighting section, which is really very complex. This keyboard gives us a choice of 16.8 million colors as it is an RGB system, we can also adjust the animation speed of the light effects, as well as their intensity. This Sharkoon Skiller SGK3 offers us a large number of light effects to choose from, in this sense it is impressive.

Final words and conclusion about Sharkoon Skiller SGK3

Sharkoon Skiller SGK3 is a keyboard that has left us with unbeatable sensations, because we are talking about a product with a tight selling price, but that offers features that are at the height of the best. Its design is really very robust, made of top quality materials to last us for many years. Its high weight together with the rubber feet makes it not move an inch on the table, guaranteeing perfect stability.

Sharkoon's software is very well worked, with an impeccable operation in which it has not shown any instability problem. We also highlight that the application is very well optimized, so that it hardly consumes memory from our equipment, and it runs very smoothly.

We recommend reading the best keyboards on the market

Kailh Red switches work very well, with a really nice touch to press. Perhaps they are somewhat harder than the Cherry MX, but it is true that it is such a subtle difference that it is difficult to say if it is real or it is by perception. Most users will not be able to find difference between them.

The Sharkoon Skiller SGK3 is for sale for approximately 60 euros, an unbeatable price for what it offers us
