Sk hynix already has 16gb 5200mhz ddr5 memory chips
Table of contents:
Samsung introduced its 8Gb LPDDR5 memory a few weeks ago, Micron is also planning, and now we have SK Hynix with its 16Gb DDR5 chips, which comply with JEDEC standards, and use the same 1Xnm process as the 8Gb DDR4 DRAM chip recently inserted.

DDR5 memory will offer higher memory densities, higher clocks, and less power consumption than DDR4, making them better in every respect. SK Hynix has managed to reduce the voltage to 1.1V, and achieve 30% lower power consumption than the DDR4, with its memory running efficiently at 5200MHz, and delivering 41.6GB of data per second.
We recommend reading our article on GTX 1060 with GDDR5X memory that will use the GP104 GPU.
SK Hynix has already provided samples to all of its major customers, including versions with RDIMM and UDIMM for server and PC platforms. But, when should mass production of DDR5 memory start? SK Hynix is planning it for 2020. IDC's market research firm predicts that demand for DDR5 will start to increase sharply in 2020, with a quarter of its share of the DRAM market in 2021, and 44 percent a year later.
We can expect the new standard to appear as usual on servers and PCs, preferably on HEDT, with multi-core processors like the Core i9 versions of HCC and XCC and AMD Threadripper. Only later will it hit ordinary desktop and mobile processors, but of course building on previous experience, just as it already happened with the move from DDR3 to DDR4. What do you expect from the arrival of DDR5 memory?
