And here we have the last two plates that the manufacturer Gaming AORUS has presented at Computex 2019. They are the Gigabyte X570 AORUS Ultra and the Gigabyte X570 AORUS Elite, the former one step behind the AORUS Master and the latter possibly behind the Pro series, and therefore presumably the cheapest. Let's see what these two plates bring us.

Review of what's new in the X570 chipset

Among the novelties of these new boards with AMD chipset, it stands out the support for PCIe 4.0, capable of offering us double the performance than traditional PCIe 3.0, we are talking about 2000 MB / s in the data line both up and down. And in this case we have the AORUS Ultra model that has Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, that is, wireless connectivity under the 802.11ax protocol, reaching 2400 Mbps on the 5 GHz frequency and more than 500 Mbps on the 2 frequency, 4 GHz. We also do not forget the 20 PCIe Lanes that this ideal chipset offers for M.2 4.0 SSD and PCI slots in this case, AORUS does integrate at least one.

We must not forget that, despite the fact that this chipset is aimed at the new Ryzen, both the previous generation and these new boards offer support for 1st and 2nd generation AMD Ryzen without any problem.

Gigabyte X570 AORUS Ultra

We are going to start with this first motherboard in ATX format that can be placed just below the Master range, both in terms of features and design, since it is very similar to the latter discussed. We can see this quickly by looking at its new generation 14-phase PowlRstage power VRM and the powerful coolers we have distributed. An integral block for the VRM that is part of the I / O panel protector, three independent heatsinks for the M.2 SSDs and another with fan for the powerful X570 chipset.

Likewise, all the card slots, except the third PCIe and the small ones, have steel reinforcement for greater durability. In this case, we have a total of three PCIe 4.0 x16 slots, the first running at x16, the second at x8, and the third, managed by the chipset, running at x4. In addition, we have two other PCIe 4.0 x1 also managed by the chipset. We will have Multi-GPU support for Nvidia SLI and AMD CrossFire 2-way. Let's not forget the four DIMMs for 128 GB of DDR4-3200 MHz RAM.

Regarding storage options, this board has three M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, two 22110 and one 2280. And since the chipset has plenty of PCI LANES, two of these M.2 are plugged directly into it. Like the 6 SATA 6 Gbps ports. This board also includes Wi-Fi 6 connectivity thanks to the Intel Wireless-AX 200 chip that all boards with this type of support incorporate. And on wired connectivity, we only have an Intel 10/100/1000 Mb / s chip.

The sound card is controlled by the same chip as the rest, a Realtek ALC1220-VB, although WIMA capacitors have been added to give 114 dB SNR. And we conclude with the port panel in which the count is kept very well with the 3 USB 3.1 Gen2 along with one Type-C, 3 USB 3.1 Gen1 and 4 USB 2.0. A single HDMI video port is offered.

Gigabyte X570 AORUS Elite

And this will be the next X570 motherboard that we will see in this new batch of AORUS, which will surely be the most discreet of all, and consequently, the most economical. And we will notice this already in the design, having smaller heatsinks for a VRM of 14 phases, but from the previous generation with MOSFETS DrMOS. Similarly, only a heatsink is included for an M.2 and the compulsory chipset with forced ventilation.

Let's take a closer look at its elements, starting with its four DIMM slots that are not reinforced, but do support 128 GB DDR4-3200 MHz. Similarly, the two PCIe 4.0 x16 slots are also not reinforced, where one of them works at x16 and the other, managed by the chipset at x4. The M.2 count is also reduced to 2 PCIe 4.0 x4 22110, one of them being managed by the chipset, just like the 6 SATA 6 Gbps ports.

We have the same sound chip and ordinary GbE LAN, and without a pre-installed Wi-Fi card. In this version the port panel has 2 USB 3.1 Gen2, 4 USB 3.1 Gen1 and another 4 USB 2.0, thus losing the USB Type-C. We also have an HDMI port.

Availability

Well, it would be, these are the main characteristics of these two plates, an Ultra that will be in the upper-middle range and another Elite that will be in a somewhat cheaper and basic mid-range.

Like the others, these will surely appear next July or I include earlier in coordination with the departure of the AMD Ryzen 3700X, 3800X and 3900X. When we have more information we will provide it to you.
